Pastoral Chat: In this message, I explore whether it's possible to get remarried after divorce, looking at how different Christian traditions approach the topic. Some believe remarriage is only allowed if a former spouse has died, while others permit it in cases like adultery or abandonment. I personally lean toward the Eastern Orthodox view that marriage is sacred, but in a broken world, divorce and remarriage can sometimes be necessary. My heart is for reconciliation whenever possible, but I also believe God is compassionate and can lead someone into a new, healthy marriage. Divorce doesn't have to be a lifelong sentence of singleness—God redeems and restores.
