I received my first hate messages online for being in an interracial relationship. I reported this to Instagram and to the police who have done nothing about it and advised me to block/ignore the user. Out of frustration and disappointment, I decided to change my podcast schedule around and speak about what had happened in this episode. Hate crime on ESEA has increased by 300% in the UK since the coronavirus and we need to speak out about it and encourage organisations such as Facebook (who own Instagram), the police and the government to make changes.
