Rabat - A total of 146 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 351 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Thursday.
In its daily briefing on the pandemic, the Ministry noted that the number of people who have received their first Covid-19 vaccine reached 24,456,314 and those who got two jabs amounted to 22,759,148, while 1,934,837 people received their booster shot.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 951,092, while recoveries rise to 934,009, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.2%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (64), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (54), Marrakech-Safi (12), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (10), Eastern Region (3), Souss-Massa (2) and Beni Mellal-Khenifra (1).
The total number of deaths rose to 14,794 (case-fatality 1.6%) with 2 new confirmed deaths in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra.
The number of active cases stands at 2,289, including 102 people in a critical or severe condition.
