As we learn more about our autonomic nervous system (ANS) and how it responds to things, we realize it needs comfort to heal. Just like a child, our inner child needs comfort to feel safe and secure. When the ANS feels safe and secure it will function the way God created it to function and heal. We live in a world that wants our ANS stressed out all the time and that is not normal or healthy.
