The topic of face masks or face coverings use and their efficacy has rapidly morphed into one of the most divisive topics in American culture. Mandated by many government bodies in the US and around the globe, these face coverings have been encouraged to slow the spread of COVID-19. We have heard from many of you, our listeners, that parents are asking for anticipatory guidance around mask wearing and their children, particularly chronic asthmatics. In this our 18th COVID-19 podcast, we will discuss the AAP guidance around pediatric patients and face coverings, considerations for asthmatic patients and how these fit in with the return to school.

In this episode we are joined by returning guest Monica Federico, MD, Medical Director of the Clinical Alignment and Asthma Programs at Children's Colorado and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
