Plymouth Police Officer and Husband Charged with Sexual Abuse of Teenage Ward

A Plymouth, Massachusetts police officer, Samantha Pelrine, and her husband, Daniel Forand, are facing charges of sexually abusing a teenage girl they cared for as legal guardians. The victim, who moved in with the couple around age twelve, was subjected to repeated sexual assaults and physical attacks starting soon after becoming their ward. The abuse continued until this year, with the couple ordered to stay at least one hundred yards away from the victim due to a protective order. Pelrine, who joined the force in April 2022, and Forand will appear in Plymouth District Court on March 27th. The case raises questions about trust in those meant to protect us, with state and local investigations ongoing.
