When the Rwandan genocide broke out in 1994, Callixte betrayed his best friend, Andrew. Though both men were Hutu, Andrew married a Tutsi and was a traitor in Callixte's eyes. After the genocide, Callixte was thrown behind bars for his atrocities. That's when he was baptized in the Spirit and received the gift of prophecy.
