We’re discussing likely our most requested book club pick … the iconic Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer! Braiding Sweetgrass is a beautiful collection of essays through which author Kimmerer, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, blends her Indigenous knowledge and appreciation of the natural world with her scientific lens. “Drawing on her life as an indigenous scientist, a mother, and a woman, Kimmerer shows how other living beings … offer us gifts and lessons, even if we’ve forgotten how to hear their voices.”
We’re reading with Sameera Polavarapu, environmental advocate, strategic design graduate student, + host of the Environmentenlist podcast.
