Show Notes
openSUSE uses RPM for its own packaging needs, with macros on their own
on top. However, the distributions using RPMs are just a couple
compared to the vast Linux ecosystem. How are other distributions
handling packaging? Are they using bash scripts, functions, or even
declarative languages?
This talk will give a rundown of the different approaches that have
been more successful in building a distribution on top, such as Gentoo
ebuilds, Void Linux packages, and even some more niche packaging spec
files.
