Tanguy presents an app created to be simple so non tech people can use it, and use some of the native ability of the phone to take pictures, get GPS coordinates, scan barcodes and QRCodes and work even when the network is unavailable.
This talk covers the simple areas and complications delivering an enterprise logistics app - adapting the mental model as it was not just backend development anymore. Learning some new patterns, experiment some that worked, some that didn’t. Also they fell into the low level complexity of Fyne to be able to connect to the complexity of Android (one is nicer, you’ll be the judge). And with luck and elbow grease, it should avoid you all to have to do it anymore.
In summary it was a very fun project and confirms that Go doesn’t have to stay in backend, microservices, CLI and DevOps and is also a good language to be used for mobile development and Fyne is really a great framework to build GUI for enterprise.
