Show Notes
Bubble memory was a hot technology in the 1970s that was expected to replace both RAM and mass storage. At the beginning of the 1980s it was clear that it was made obsolete by faster RAM chips and cheaper HDDs. Still, this technology made it into a few computers in the early 1980s. The earliest of these computers is the Fujitsu Micro 8, a quite advanced home computer from 1981. We have a look at this model and its quirky (optional) bubble memory drive.
