The last few months have been quite a ride for our good ol’ web mapping companion. What should have been a peaceful rest after a lengthy refactoring in version 5 did in fact end up being an involved rewrite of its rendering code: better **performance**, nicer **vector tiles**, smoother **WebGL**, more options and even some Mapbox goodness in there.
In this talk we will take a quick tour of all the new stuff in OpenLayers and talk about the *why*s and *how*s, as well as what lies ahead of us. Love maps? We do too, come along!
