In today’s episode we will be talking to my the incredible Dr Rachel Horton, a woman with an absolutely amazing story.

From science, to rugby to Iraq with the military and currently Australia as a School Principal, Rachel truly has had an amazing journey.

While living in the growing up and studying in the UK, Rachel joined the army reserves and in the beginning of 2003 the UK government used the reserve forces while entering into Iraq. This led to Rachel being deployed overseas into the Iraq conflict as a female officer.

In today’s episode Rachel shares:


-      What it was like being a woman in the military

-      How she handled returning to civilian life afterwards

-      The lessons she learnt in the armed forces that she still uses today
