Scripture Ref: I Thessalonians 5:14-28Topic: AssuranceNotes:- We do more defensive praying than offensive; shortcomings, self-loathing (defensive but not repentant)- We cannot be a conquering army with this mentality- He died for all our sins: past, present and future- Saved by grace through faith, not by faith- I only have victory because of the keeping power of God; I am not strong enough on my own to stay saved- Too much humanism in our theology; I didn't do it, He foreknew, predestined, justified, glorified- Theology and prayer life must be rearranged according to scripture, not a denomination- Flying-when you climb too fast your nose is up, when you make no progress your nose is down- Fly straight, enough heaven and enough earth, balanced- Bad temper-story of Jeep on bumper- Need assurance; We have bad days and good days, but are still saved
