Daniel Penny, a 26-year-old Marine veteran, has been found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the chokehold death of Jordan Neely on a New York City subway car in 2023. Syrian citizens celebrated the sudden fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, with fighters from the Islamist rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham [HTS] parading through the capital city of Damascus.
