CS 1392: the 7th Commandment: Friday

Join us as we dig into the 7th Commandment! There's a whole lot more to "not stealing" than you might think! Monday: Not stealing means not taking what isn't mine. Why is this such a common temptation? Tuesday: It's not enough to just not steal. We must also work to be less attached to material objects, and long more for heaven. Wednesday: God created the world as a gift for us. However, we need to make sure that creation (water, resources, animals, and land) is shared among all people. Thursday: We steal from the poor when we fail to share what we have with them. Friday: Employers also steal from workers when they don't pay them well or cut corners that endanger their life of dignity. CS 1368: The 3rd Commandment: Friday

It's week three of our series on the 10 Commandments. This week we will be discussing the 3rd Commandment, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY. Monday: Our Sabbath observance asks us to recall how God rested on the 7th day of creation, and the covenant He made with the Israelites after He rescued them from slavery. Tuesday: In the Gospels, Jesus was often accused of breaking the Sabbath by curing on that day. Why did He do that and what does it mean? Wednesday: As Christians, we now celebrate the Sabbath on Sundays, the day of the Resurrection. Thursday: Attending Holy Mass on Sundays is the most important part of our Sabbath rest. Each Sunday is a Holy Day of obligation. Friday: What does it mean to rest and how do we keep the other hours of a Sunday holy and restful? All Adoration materials are on sale right now! CS 1365: The 2nd Commandment: Friday

It's week two of our series on the 10 Commandments! This week we will be discussing, YOU SHALL NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD YOUR GOD IN VAIN. Monday: God shared His name with us through Moses at the burning bush and through the Incarnation. Why is this such a HUGE deal? Tuesday: Fear of the Lord, a gift of the Holy Spirit, allows us to obey the 2nd Commandment. What is Fear of the Lord and how is it NOT contrary to love? Wednesday: On the Feast of St. John Chrysostom, we discuss the power of our words and how we need to strive to never commit blasphemy or make a casual promise in Jesus's Name. Thursday: On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross we explore the power of Jesus's name, which in itself is a powerful prayer. Friday: Finally, what about our names as Christians, people who have been Baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? We are excited to announce the launch of our Eucharistic Revival Study for Families: Encountering the Heart of Jesus! This is a powerful study for the Whole Family! Books are on sale now. CS 1353: Our Restless Hearts: Friday

We all, just like St. Augustine, struggle with feelings of restlessness. Things we think will make us happy don't. Pursuits that we think will lead to fulfillment don't. The truth is that our hearts will be restless until they rest in Jesus. And so, in honor of St. Augustine, who is celebrating a feast day this week, let's talk about how we can find rest for our restless hearts. Monday: hear the biography of St. Augustine! Tuesday: Understand that we, like St. John the Baptist, find rest in God by doing His Work. Wednesday: Understand that we, like St. Jeanne Jugan, find rest in God by giving ourselves away as a gift of love. Thursday: Understand that we, like St. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, find rest in God when we accept our true identity in God. Friday: Understand that we, like all the saints, can only find relief for our restless hearts in silence and stillness with God. Looking for fun, free Catholic activities? Search our massive library!
