Our stories today include: (1) Pope Francis' trip to Kazakhstan (Sept. 14-15) and his participation in a World Religions Congress, during which he championed religious freedom while ignoring Christ and Catholicism; (2) the accession of Charles III to the British throne and the question of whether or not he is truly a Christian king; (3) some disturbing (albeit predictable) developments from the German Synodal Way, including a so-called "magisterial reassessment of homosexuality"; and (4) a petition submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court asking the Court to recognize the personhood (i.e., inherent dignity and inalienable rights) of unborn children.

Our stories this week include: (1) The Death of Queen Elizabeth II and the ascension to the throne of King Charles III; (2) President Biden's ominous speech in Philadelphia last Thursday, during which he said, "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic"; (3) a heretical pro-LGBT article promoted by Fr. James Martin which attempts to pit what the author calls "texts of welcome" (found in the Gospels) against "texts of rigor" (those which categorically condemn unnatural vice); (4) an announcement from a Dutch diocese that Sunday Mass will soon only be offered in parishes every other week due to a shortage of priests; (5) Pope Francis' upcoming trip to Kazakhstan for the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions; and (6) the rapid increase of Evangelical (Protestant) Christians in Brazil, home of the world's largest nominally Catholic population. Our stories this week include: (1) Bishop Robert Barron's interview of Shia LaBeouf, a young Hollywood actor who took on the daunting task of portraying Padre Pio in a forthcoming film and ended up converting to Catholicism (the unexpected bombshell is that the TLM played a key role in his conversion); (2) the next phase of the Synod on Synodality (introduced last week in Rome via a press conference); (3) a new exposé on discrimination against Catholic and conservative educators in a Connecticut elementary school; and (4) the latest from Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò.

Our stories today include: (1) the resignation of Dr. Anthony Fauci (effective this December), the man best known for his role in pushing masks, lockdowns, and vaccines since the arrival of COVID, after nearly 40 years as the Director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID); (2) the upcoming consistory in Rome this Saturday, during which Pope Francis will create 21 new cardinals, 16 of whom will be eligible to vote in a conclave; (3) the death of Archbishop Rembert Weakland (formerly of Milwaukee), a notorious member of the Lavender Mafia within the Church's hierarchy, and his sordid legacy (including high-level involvement in the post-Vatican II liturgical revolution); (4) a Vatican theologian who claims that Paul VI's Humanae Vitae (1968 Encyclical on contraception) and Pius XI's Casti Connubii (1930 Encyclical on marriage) contain "reformable doctrine"; and (5) the annual Mother Cabrini Pilgrimage in Denver (organized by the local SSPX priory).

In this episode we consider the use of hand missals by the laity at Mass. We look at the purpose for using missals at Mass. In addition the episode contains practical guidance on how to use a missal to find the particular Mass being offered.

Our stories today include: (1) recent papal comments against "restorationism" and "traditionalists", plus a new restriction imposed on bishops related to Traditionis Custodes; (2) a new interview of Cardinal-elect Arthur Roche, head of the Vatican's liturgy office, in which he says it is "quite serious" to resist Vatican II's "new liturgy"; (3) more liturgical abuse in Chicago (this time, a homosexual couple was allowed to give a "Gospel reflection" in place of the sermon); (4) another attack on Catholics in Nigeria, reportedly carried out by Fulani (predominantly Muslim) herdsman once again; and (5) a large group of U.S. armed service members who are speaking out against discrimination related to COVID-19 vaccination status.

In this episode we look at the concluding ceremonies of Mass (the blessing, Ite Missa est, and the Last Gospel. We also discuss the prayers customary after Low Mass (sometimes called the Leonine Prayers).

Each episode will also compare in what respects the Traditional Latin Mass and Novus Ordo Mass differ. Part 1 provides an overview of the series and introduces the general themes of the ceremonies of the Traditional Mass and Novus Ordo. It also discusses the symbolism of the liturgical vestments and vesting prayers as well as the general preparation for Mass.
