Sinead O'Shea is the filmmaker behind A Mother Brings Her Son to be Shot, Pray for Us Sinners, and now Blue Road: The Edna O'Brien Story. Edna O'Brien, who dies last year at the age of 93, was a prolific writer of stories, novels and occasionally films, who was ahead of her time in many ways, from her writing to her approach to life as a woman at a time when women didn't have many choices. In this episode Sinead and I discuss the new film, how she came to make a film about Edna O'Brien, and Edna's incredible life and career. This was one of my favourite conversations in recent times,
