Show Notes
Welcome back to the Candlelit Tales Podcast.
This month we’re telling stories of the Mythic Places of Ireland and its many waterways.
This one of a number of stories about how Lough Derg, on the Shannon, got its name. They all seem to come back to blood, one way or another.
The poet Aithirne demanded high prices for all his performances, and liked to try to stir up trouble by asking for something he knew would be refused. He once insulted a river so badly that it might have to be another part of this series!
