Sanjay Deshpande is a 30-year-old Brain Cancer Survivor, who was diagnosed at 29 just as he was about to start his Master’s at Harvard University. He’s a strong advocate for young adults with cancer and is currently leading the effort to write and publish world’s first book on their lived experiences. He believes life is unpredictable, so we must make peace that not everything can be controlled. His philosophy is “All you have is right now, so seize the day and fulfil your dreams before it’s too late.”

Pastor Steve Cobb is a brain cancer warrior who beat cancer through his faith in God. He underwent surgery, 8 cycles of chemotherapy and 30 cycles of radiation therapy to get rid of the cancer, but the one thing that helped him the most throughout this journey was recognizing the presence of God and having faith in Him. He advises others to maintain their physical well-being through diet and exercise and at the same time to never ignore their emotional, mental and spiritual health.

Harsha Nagi is a 40-year-old Breast Cancer survivor. She is a fitness coach for several years and was caught with a rude shock when diagnosed with cancer in August 2021. She is a living proof of the fact that fitness is not the same as wellness. You might just be eating the right things and doing your exercises regularly and correctly but you might still be diagnosed with cancer. Her advice is “Think of life like a book. All the chapters of the book aren’t supposed to be rosy. There are always certain ups and certain downs. However, there is a learning in each chapter and one should focus on embracing that learning and be grateful to God for all his blessings."

Ep 72Lung Cancer Survivor: Glenn Holland : Cancer Survivor Stories
Glenn Holland is a lung cancer survivor. On February 28, he had a very severe coughing episode in the morning before going to work. He coughed up about a three or four-inch piece of bloody spit. Luckily, he looked at it in the garbage can before shutting it. From X-ray, they found something inside his lung's lower right lobe. It was about 2.5 CM, about the size of a golf ball. It took 6 weeks and 4 hospital systems to finally get the right diagnosis when he heard those 3 words no one wants to hear... ""YOU HAVE CANCER"". He underwent surgery. Doctors cut out the bottom part of his lung. Cancer had died from the Keytruda. He thought that without him participating in that, it may not have shown that this is a viable option for people. So he felt compelled to share this story on LinkedIn. He had chemotherapy afterwards. As alternative treatment, he took organic lemon zest in ozone-infused water every day. He even cut out the dairy and red meat, and exercised regularly. Another thing he used was cannabis oil. Lucky for him, he lived in an area where he had choices. He was able to be enrolled in a Keytruda clinical trial and 4 years later, he is NED (No Evidence of Disease). He says, "So for cancer patients, everybody is different. Everybody is an individual, and everybody has their residence and frequency inside them. It would help if you found which one works for you and which one resonates with you."

Asmita Chattopadhyay is a breast cancer survivor, who at a very young age of 29 years was diagnosed with and beat cancer. Despite the physical, emotional and mental upheaval that cancer brought in her life, Asmita stood strong like a rock, determined to fight it out. She says “what has happened has happened. But how you tackle with it defines the life of the people who are around you, supporting you, and the life of the people who see you getting out of it and get inspiration from you.”
