On Tuesday February 22nd, Queen’s University announced the completion of an international study conducted in partnership with the University of Toledo that confirmed that current water quality guidelines do not go far enough to address the ecological impact of road de-icing salts, agricultural fertilizers, mining operations and climate change on the salinity of freshwater ecosystems.
