Alvin Lui is a first-generation Chinese American whose parents and grandparents fled Communist China. In one generation he went from dirt-poor to middle class, in large part due to the values he was taught. Now, his children are being taught by public schools the very values that his family fled—and he can't sit idly by while America replays the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
