Show Notes
The Gibbon Conservation Center in Santa Clarita, California, is home to the largest population of gibbons in the U.S., with forty-one individuals across five species. Founded by primatologist Alan Mootnick, the center is now led by director Gabriella Skollar, a Hungarian volunteer since 2005. The center focuses on daily care and protection efforts, feeding the gibbons six to eight times a day with natural foraging fruits. Gibbons are known for their strong emotions, mischievous behavior, and powerful singing duets. Guided tours are available to experience their songs and support habitat preservation and education.
