BWI Live: Recapping Indiana, Previewing Iowa
The BWI Staff is back to give you their Monday recap of Penn State's 24-0 win over Indiana on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Host Thomas Frank Carr, Senior Editor Nate Bauer and Writer Dave Eckert talk about the game that was, as well as give their initial thoughts on the top 5 showdown at Kinnick Stadium next Saturday. First, they start with their general impressions of the game as well and then shift their focus to the defensive side of the ball. They discuss how much you can take away from shutting out an Indiana team that was clearly outmatched and was not able to move the ball against the Penn State defense. From there they discuss the Penn State secondary and their performance through the first five games of the season. Are they elite? Or have they faced bad quarterbacks on ranked teams? Nate and T-Frank discuss the nuance to that conversation while Dave gives his perspective on the players outside of star safety Jaquan Brisker. After that they take a look at the Penn State offense and have a similar conversation about Sean Clifford against Indiana's complex defense. Who gets more credit (or blame) for the senior quarterbacks least efficient passing performance of the season. T-Frank gives his opinion on just how tough Head Coach Tom Allen's defense can be on a quarterback. They also take questions from the audience about the game coming up on Saturday and how the staff feels that Penn State will fare facing an Iowa team that has been getting turnovers in bunches. Dave points out that Iowa isn't the only defense that has been doing so this year and Penn State fans should consider the idea that the Nittany Lions make be the team that dictates the flow of the game. Finally they give their closing thoughts and what they're looking at heading into the week.
