BWI Daily: Comparing Penn State and Maryland‘s similar offensive philosophies
Penn State faces Big 10 East foe Maryland on Saturday in College Park hoping to stop a three-game losing streak. Host of the BWI Daily Edition, and film analyst for Blue White Illustrated, Thomas Frank Carr brings his unique look at the Terrapins after watching several of their games on film this season. He points out just how similarly the two offenses are built and how they try to accomplish the same things through the same means. He also takes a look at the signal callers for each team and how they compare in those systems. From there he compares the running games, their output, and how each offensive line is built. The differences, according to T-Frank are on the defensive side of the ball. Penn State is better in several key areas. Maryland has a slightly different philosophy in how they want to play in the defensive secondary, which has hurt them at times this year. Finally he wraps up by judging the strengths and weaknesses of each team and how those might play out on the field this weekend.
