How to Start A Podcast from Scratch

Welcome to this special episode of the Building Leadership Community Podcast! Coach Dora Mendez is joined by her husband and podcast producer, Dylan Rogers, to answer your most frequently asked questions about launching a podcast. This episode is dedicated to providing you with the tools and strategies you need to finally share your voice with the world. In this episode, we dive into: Getting Started: The first step is to create your podcast blueprint by defining your show's purpose and mission. We recommend using AI tools like ChatGPT to brainstorm titles, craft taglines, and outline episodes. Audio vs. Video: While audio is the easiest way to start, video offers a much bigger payoff, allowing you to use content on platforms like YouTube and for social media clips. AI tools can also help you create show notes and social posts from your transcripts. Essential Equipment: You don't need a fancy studio. The bare minimum includes a reliable computer, a decent USB microphone, headphones, and a quiet space. For recording, we use StreamYard, but other options like Riverside FM and Zoom also work. Launch Strategy: To make a great first impression, you need a high-quality cover image and compelling show notes. Dylan, a professional graphic designer, uses Photoshop for their cover art, but recommends Canva for beginners.
