Far too many women in tech are quietly unhappy. They are passed over for a promotion, and companies are not investing in them. They ask themselves, why is my career not advancing? I do what is necessary.
In a recent, and exclusive global networking event for exec women in tech one woman asked, "Am I the only one who feels lost and underfed?" The answer was a resounding and clear, "No. You are not alone."
Like an earlier episode, it is common but not normal for women in tech to be unhappy.
We believe a lie, we believe that when we do a good job, our employers will keep investing in us, in our skills, to keep our interests and our minds busy. When in fact, we need to invest in ourselves!
That is the secret to enjoying your exec career: invest in yourself.
