The Batesville School District used an alternative calendar for the 2022-23 school year.
Alternative Calendar: based on hours, not days
The typical calendar consists of 187 days or ~10,066 hours
Built-In collaboration time = 21 days given to staff
Work Days: prep for the start of school, curriculum, etc.
Collaboration Days: time for teachers to work together (students are sent home)
There are no AMI days--time is made up the time at the end of the year
We plan to survey our parents and stakeholders on our calendar during January
