Show Notes

Conor Leahy, Olympic champion, secured his sixth Australian individual pursuit title, beating teammate Oliver Bleddyn in the gold medal final. Leahy shattered the national record in the four thousand meter event, clocking four minutes four point zero six two seconds. Both riders had previously worked together in the ProVelo Super League road series, with Bleddyn winning the overall title. Leahy, who had emptied the tank as a domestique, found extra gears once racing for himself. The duo, along with Sam Welsford and Kelland OBrien, won the Paris Olympic team pursuit gold. They are now set to head to Europe with their ProContinental team, aiming to dominate team pursuit and chase more track medals, including at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
