Why You Should Never Rescue a Kangaroo from Water

You've probably seen those viral images of kangaroos chilling in shallow water, seemingly inviting you to join them. But in Australia, it’s likely they're trying to hurt you. Some folks on social media say kangaroos might lure predators into the water to drown them, using their strength to hold heads underwater. While there's evidence of this tactic with animals like dogs, it’s not clear if kangaroos would do this to humans. They usually use water to escape threats, not as a murder strategy. Still, it's best to keep your distance and definitely keep your dogs out of the water if a kangaroo is around.
