Today’s episode is called Crippled generation: The story of poliovirus. This story is a long one, but Cause of Death does a full history of the disease from its beginning, along with a personal story from Jackie’s aunt, Dorothy Williams, who contracted polio as a child.

This book is really worth the read. It not only describes the challenges of polio as a history, but also talks about why pharmaceutical companies are reluctant to make vaccines. I highly recommend it.
