While we were certainly not saved "by" good works we were certainly saved "for" good works. Unfortunately, in our current Christian culture this challenging truth often gets neglected. Far too often fruitless religious activity has replaced being fully engaged in the mission of Jesus Christ. Worse yet, is the other extreme where Christian "couch potatoes" sit around and discuss theology without doing anything at all.
