Stand Alone Messages: Today is the Day
This is the day that the Lord has made. We only have today and should celebrate today in joy, because it is the only day we have. As believer's we spend a lot of time looking through the rear-view mirror and get stuck, because we cannot move forward looking backwards. Some of us are looking through the telescope into the future, and are paralyzed with fear of the future, or do not take advantage of today, because we are thinking of all we need to get done. We are to realize the gift the present is to us, and make the most of today. We as believers, should do this with joy despite our circumstances, because we have hope for the future, no matter what today brings. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub

Better Together (1 John): Confident Love
Love has been perfected: This is speaking of love that is "perfectly perfected" or "completely complete." This is very strong language from God through John. This love from God, or rather God in us cast out fear. This love removes the ambiguity of the future from our life now. If Christ is in us now, then we have boldness in the world now. God is the generator of love, He is love, and we love because He revealed this love to us. We see this in each other when we love our brothers and sisters. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub
Better Together (1 John): Perfected Love
If we love one another God abides in us: This is the greatest evidence of God's presence and work among us –love. Since no one has seen God at any time, this provides evidence for the presence of God. Perfected love is . . . Practiced and Present in the people of God. (12,16) The greatest evidence of God's presence and practice is love. Where God is present and practicing, there will be love. We abide in Him, and He in us: Perfected love is . . .Possible with the Spirit of God. (13) Just as true as it is that we should abide in Him [Jesus], it is true that He does abide in us. It is the testimony of the Holy Spirit within us that makes it possible for us to love. The best way to glorify God is to love people, the way God loves us. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub
Better Together (1 John): Manifested Love
John's emphasis on love among the people of God is powerful. Here, he shows why it is so important to love. If love is of God, then those who claim to be born of God, and claim to know God, must be able to love one another in the body of Christ. John insists that there is something that is given to the believer when they are born of God; a love is imparted to their life that they did not have before. Christians are not just forgiven – they are born anew by God's Spirit, to love. When we say GOD is Love, we are not saying everything about God. Love is an essential aspect of His character, and colors every aspect of His nature. We know His holiness to be love, and the righteousness of God to be love, and so on. Therefore, we are of God, then we are loving to the people of God. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub
Better Together (1 John): Don't Believe Everything You Hear
John warned against believing every spirit; that is, we are never to assume every spiritual experience or every demonstration of spiritual power is from God. We must test spiritual experiences and spiritual phenomenon to see if they are in fact from God. But we must test the spirits: This is important because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God: True prophecy, and true teaching, will present a true Jesus. Jesus is full of Grace and Truth and He is just, holy and love. The believer has a resource for victory, the vital presence of the indwelling Jesus, which makes victory always possible in and through Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. For the believer there is evidence of Christ living in and through them. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub

Better Together (1 John): God's Heart for His Children
God's passion is for us, as His children, to not sin. Sin hinders our fellowship with God. Sin also has consequences and hurts others which leads to shame and blame. God's provision when we do sin is Jesus Christ, our Advocate. Jesus moves towards us, even before we sin. Jesus not only has paid the penalty for our sin, died in our place, but also is our Advocate before the Father defending us before the perfect Judge. Obedience is the result of relationship. It is not about us trying hard to be obedient, and then gaining relationship with the Father. When we know God, love God, and realize we are redeemed, then obedience is a reality in our life. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub
Better Together (1 John): Responding to the Light
Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub
Better Together (1 John): Real Life
How do you get real life? How do you experience life and life to the full. The only way to have real life, and life to the fullest is to know and experience Jesus Christ. The only way to have lasting satisfaction in this life is to have an authentic relationship with Jesus, and share this with other people. If the eternal God lives in us, then evangelism is as natural as breathing. Real life is established in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and those who know Him. If we know Jesus through a personal relationship then it is marked by great and abundant joy. Speaker: Jeff Schwarzentraub
