In this episode, I chat with Rhea Wong – a nonprofit consultant, author, and stand-up comedian, about raising money for nonprofits and the emotional connection between nonprofits and comedy. 80% of successful fundraising comes from the mindset. Unfortunately, many nonprofits operate from a scarcity mindset. It's in the name "non-profit" so it makes sense.
Rhea talks about how to successfully raise funds with an emotional connection and not by treating donors like walking ATMs. She recently came out with a book called "Get That Money, Honey!: The No-Bullsh*t Guide to Raising More Money For Your Nonprofit." It's full of everything she has learned about fundraising over the last 20 years – seriously, everything! She shares it all because she genuinely wants to see nonprofits succeed.
