Wyoming Man Avoids Jail Time in Wolf Bar Incident: Pleads to Felony Animal Cruelty
A forty-four-year-old man from Sublette County, Wyoming, has reached a plea deal to avoid jail time after hitting a wolf with his snowmobile and posing with it inside a bar. Cody Roberts will plead guilty or no contest to felony animal cruelty, facing up to two years in prison, but the sentence will be suspended. Instead, hell get eighteen months of supervised probation, a one thousand dollar fine, and must stay away from hunting, fishing, alcohol, bars, and liquor stores. Hell also complete any recommended addiction treatment. The case was initially handled by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department with just a two hundred fifty dollar fine, but local prosecutors pushed forward with a grand jury indictment, leading to the felony charge.
