Eric Overmyer, a renowned playwright and TV scriptwriter, passed away on March 16th at age 74 due to Parkinsons disease complications. Overmyer, known for his sharp dialogue and deep storytelling, wrote for shows like St. Elsewhere, Homicide, The Wire, Treme, and Bosch. He transitioned from New York theater to TV in the mid-80s, supervising Homicide and adding clever nods to classic movies. Colleagues praised his scripts for their humor, thrill, and enlightenment. Overmyer showran Bosch from 2014 to 2021 and Bosch Legacy this year. Born in Boulder, Colorado, he leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and sister.
