39-year-old Jean Charles, a former Boston school bus driver, faces manslaughter and motor vehicle homicide charges for the death of five-year-old Lens Joseph. Charles allegedly skipped a pre-trip inspection, ran a stop sign, and missed multiple stops, leading Lens to walk in front of the bus. The incident occurred in Hyde Park on April 28, 2025. Charless bus driving certificate had expired, and hes also accused of fleeing a separate three-car accident. He pleaded not guilty and remains on $15,000 bail, with a court date set for May 11.
