I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), author, and speaker with a passion for helping families thrive.
I am Dr. Beth Long and I have been counseling families for more than 20 years. However, when I needed the mental health system, it failed me. My journey into this work is deeply personal. As a foster parent, I witnessed firsthand the challenges children face in the mental health system and became frustrated with how traditional services often fell short. I was determined to make a real difference, so I returned to school to become a behavior analyst, gaining the skills to combine the best of mental health counseling and applied behavior analysis to support children and families in ways that were previously unavailable.
I help families identify skill deficits in their children and provide practical strategies to practice and master those skills, turning challenges into opportunities for growth. As a public speaker and author of Beyond Words: The Art of Effectively Communicating with Your Children, I blend science-backed strategies with real-life stories, making complex behavioral concepts relatable and actionable.
