On December 6, 2007, the fire department in Troup County Georgia was called to a rural county road after two bags were found on fire. Extinguishing the blaze, firefighters find dismembered human remains inside the bags. The body had been cut into 13 pieces, and the head, hands and feet, were all missing. Investigators failed to identify the body at the time, but did not give up. It was a hot summer day on July 24, 1996, when 7-year-old Morgan Violi went outside to play with a friend at the Shive Lane apartment complex where she lived with her mom and two sisters in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A man driving an older-model, maroon Chevrolet van pulled up alongside the girls, jumped out and tried to grab the girl Morgan was playing with but was unsuccessful, so, he snatched Morgan, threw her into the van and sped away. The van was stolen out of Dayton, Ohio, and was recovered two days later in Franklin, Tennessee, 30 miles south of Nashville. The Elmira Police Department named Alfred Raymond Murray Jr. as the lone suspect in the 1964 murder of 12-year-old Mary Simpson. The case remained unsolved for 62 years, but it was never forgotten. In November 2006, the skeletal remains of an unidentified individual were found on a beach in Taholah, an unincorporated village on the Quinault Indian Reservation, in Grays Harbor County, Washington.  he Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office and the Grays Harbor County Coroner's Office responded and began collecting evidence and investigating. Prosecutors in Pennsylvania have uncovered disturbing details in connection with an alleged 34-year-old grave robber. Police arrested Jonathan Gerlach, of Ephrata, as he left Mount Moriah Cemetery “holding a burlap bag, crow bar, and other assorted items.” He’s now facing over 500 criminal charges in connection to alleged break-ins, including 100 counts of abuse of a corpse, desecration, theft, and more. May 28, 1983: Badly burned 1977 Honda Civic is found in a field.  The body in the driver seat was so charred it was difficult to positively identify. The license plate and other items showed the vehicle belonged to 55-year-old Edward L. Cates - a former Mississippi Assistant Attorney General and Jackson City Commissioner. On June 28, 1997 a dismembered body is discovered by a father and his daughter out for a walk in Hempstead Lake State Park in Lakeview, New York. The torso is found in a rubber-maid container along with a red towel and a floral pillowcase. The head, both arms, both legs below the knee, all severed from the body and have not been found. A unique tattoo is found of a peach with a bite taken out of it that leads Investigators to publish a picture of the tattoo in a national tattoo magazine in hopes of finding an artist who remembered such a tattoo. Tattoo artist Steve Cullen in Connecticutt claimed to remember giving the tattoo to a young black woman, 18 or 19 years old. On January 12, 2023, the family of Tony Mitchell called for a mental health welfare check on the 33-year-old.
