De zes grootste economieën van Europa willen één toezichthouder voor de grote beurzen binnen de EU. De ministers van Financiën van Duitsland, Frankrijk, Italië, Spanje, Polen en Nederland zijn het daarover eens. Volgens Joost Schmets, adjunct-directeur bij de Vereniging van Effectenbezitters (VEB), is dat een goede stap. ‘Niet alleen het ministerie van Financiën, maar ook de Nederlandse toezichthouder AFM en coalitiepartijen zijn ervoor. Het is dan wel vrijdag de dertiende, maar er lijkt veel overeenstemming te zijn.’
