Coalitiepartij VVD wil dat minimaal 3,5 procent van het bruto binnenlands product (bbp) naar defensie gaat. Dat heeft fractievoorzitter Dilan Yesilgöz gezegd tijdens een ledenbijeenkomst in het Oorlogmuseum in Overloon. ‘Het is niet toevallig dat hier nu over wordt gesproken', zegt politiek verslaggever Leendert Beekman. ‘Maar het is wel opvallend dat de VVD er nu echt een cijfer op plakt.’
