De regering-Trump heeft enkele sancties tegen de Venezolaanse olie-industrie versoepeld. Dat betekent onder meer dat bedrijven uit veel landen weer Venezolaanse olie kunnen kopen. Bedrijven uit China, Rusland, Iran, Noord-Korea en Cuba zijn daarvan echter uitgesloten.
