De vergoedingen voor stemmen tellen verschillen sterk per gemeente: Almere betaalt bij de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen 100 euro voor een avond stemmen tellen, terwijl Arnhem volstaat met 35 euro. Dat blijkt uit navraag van BNR bij de twintig grootste gemeenten.
