De Verenigde Staten hebben sancties aangekondigd tegen Ruslands grootste olieproducenten Rosneft PJSC en Lukoil PJSC. Gelijktijdig maakte president Donald Trump bekend dat zijn ontmoeting met de Russische president Vladimir Poetin niet doorgaat. ‘Het voelde niet goed’, zei hij tijdens het persmoment met NAVO-baas Mark Rutte.
