Nederlandse bedrijven gaan een sleutelrol spelen in de ontwikkeling van fotonica-industrie in Europa. De Europese Unie pompt flink wat geld in die industrie: 380 miljoen euro. Naar verwachting gaat een aanzienlijk deel daarvan naar Nederland. ‘Het wordt de backbone van alle telecom en data’, zegt Ton van Mol, managing director van Holst Centre bij kennisinstituut TNO.
