De investering van 40 miljard euro uit de Semicon Coalition kan zeer gunstig uitpakken voor de Europese economie en de concurrentiepositie ten opzichte van onder meer de VS. Dat zegt Jon Yu, analist bij YouTube-kanaal en nieuwsbrief Asianometry, in BNR Digitaal. Dan is er naast de auto-industrie nog wel een tweede sector nodig die de vraag naar AI-chips kan opdrijven. ‘Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat dat sowieso een goede zaak is, voor de innovatie, productiviteit en de werkgelegenheid.’
