Dat de inflatie vorige maand met een half procent is gestegen, komt met name door stijgende voedselprijzen. Dat meldt het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) op basis van definitieve cijfers, die gelijk zijn aan de eerder gemelde snelle raming. De inflatie kwam uit op 3,8 procent. 'Schrikbarend', zegt Han de Jong, huiseconoom van BNR.
