Econoom Han de Jong noemt het ontslag van Erika McEntarfer, de baas van het Bureau of Labor Statistics, door president Trump ‘volstrekt uniek’. De Amerikaanse president stuurde de topvrouw van het bureau afgelopen vrijdag de laan uit nadat het bureau tegenvallende economische cijfers had gepubliceerd over de Amerikaanse arbeidsmarkt. Trump beweert dat McEntarfer de arbeidsstatistieken over de banengroei bewust in zijn nadeel heeft gemanipuleerd.
