Onderzoekers van het Nederlands Kankerinstituut hebben ontdekt hoe bacteriën in je darmen het effect van immuuntherapie tegen kanker kunnen beïnvloeden. Hun bevindingen daarover zijn verschenen in het wetenschappelijk tijdschrift Cancer Discovery. Volgens onderzoeker Iris Mimpen is het onderzoek een belangrijke stap om immuuntherapie beter te laten aanslaan bij patiënten.
