Nederland overweegt om zich kandidaat te stellen als vestigingsland voor het nieuw op te richten Europees Douaneagentschap. Volgens staatssecretaris Nora Achahbar van Financiën (NSC) past het douaneagentschap goed bij Nederland. Vanaf 2028 moet het agentschap operationeel zijn. Op dit moment loopt de Europese besluitvorming over de oprichting ervan nog.
